Incoming 9th graders should choose one of these projects to complete as a summer enrichment assignment
Most of your other courses at ACHS will be providing you with a summer enrichment activity. Some, like English, are actually required and have a grade attached to them. For Honors Computer Information Applications (CIA) you have your choice and they are encouraged but not required. Choose one (or, if you want, complete all three) based on the technology available to you during the summer.
Option #1: Learn to Code
For this option, you will use the web-based coding platform called Code.org There are three difference activities at this website, and you can actually work on all three for free.
Option #2: Create a Video Game
In this option, you will use a web-based application called Gamestar Mechanic to learn how to create video games. You will begin by completing the quest that allows you to earn the tools and knowledge to create your own games inside Gamestar Mechanic. Go to Gamestarmechanic.com, create your free account and get started. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Option #2: Create a Selfie Video
In this option, you are asked to use your cell phone or whatever technology you have available to create a 2-3 minute video called "This is Me and My Summer Life" in which you show me all about you. Think of this as a video selfie. If possible, post your video to Youtube and share the link with me on the Google Form below. I can't wait to get to know you!
Use this Google Form to turn in or tell me me about your summer enrichment activity.
