Classroom Discipline
Students are expected to comply with all school and district disciplinary policies in order to ensure that every student has an opportunity to learn and be successful.
Students are expected to complete all assignments. Late work is graded according to school policy. Work that is not turned in on time results in a zero and an automatic d-hall assignment. D-halls are assigned and continue until the work is completed successfully. Students are no longer penalized academically for late work.

Classroom Assignments
The Honors CIA classroom is a paperless classroom. With very few exceptions, all student work will be turned in digitally. Our primary platform for classwork will be Canvas -- a learning management system similar to Blackboard, which is used in our TCC dual credit classes. Students will be taught how to use this and will be expected to use it for all assignments.
What is Canvas?
CIA classroom assignments are assigned and completed within the digital learning environment called Canvas. This is very similar to what students use in their dual credit classes at TCC. Within Canvas, students will be able to access tutorial videos, locate make-up when they are absent, and send and receive feedback from the teacher in a timely manner. Take a look at this demo of the Canvas environment.
Late work Policy
All work is expected to be turned in on time unless you have negotiated with the teacher for a later due date.
Each assignment posted in Canvas will have a specific due date and time. Major projects will be due by 8 p.m. on Sunday night of the week that they are assigned. Vocabulary quizzes must be taken by the end of class on Tuesday regardless of your schedule.
If work is late (Check the Pacing Guide for due dates or look in Canvas) you will be assigned a grade of 0% and assigned a lunch d-hall. Work is expected to be completed by the end of school that day. If it is not, then you will be assigned a second d-hall and parents are contacted. If work is not turned in at that end of the second day, you will be assigned Thursday School from 4:00 p.m. - 6 p.m. and parents will be contacted.
When late work is turned in, it will be graded based on the full point value of the assignment. There are no academic penalties for late work.
